Recently, I heard heard a rumor that the Gainesville institution
Cafe Gardens (http://www.cafegardens.net, 1643 N.W. 1st Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32603) would be shutting down. A phone call to the restaurant confirmed that they would be closing their doors "in early May."

That's very sad to hear... It was one of the first restaurants I visited when I first moved to Gainesville.
